Close or reopen a space

Closing ends members' access and removes everything shared into the space. Nothing is deleted from anyone's vault, and the Owner can reopen it.

When an engagement ends — the contractor's six weeks, the house-sitter's fortnight — close the space:

  • App: open the space, choose Close, then Close space to confirm (Owner only).

  • AI tool: "The website rebuild is finished — close the 'Website rebuild — contractor' space."

The space shows as Closed. Every share in it is removed and members lose access. The memories themselves are not deleted — they stay in their owners' vaults — and the member list is kept.

Reopening

The Owner can choose Reopen on the space's page in the app. Members get their access back, but the space starts empty: closing removed its shares, so members need to share their memories in again.

A space that counts against your plan needs a free slot to reopen. If your plan's spaces are all in use, close another one first. Extra Spaces you pay for don't need a slot.

Deleting for good

A closed space can also be deleted: open it and choose Delete space. The space, its member list and its shared links are gone for good, and this can't be undone. Memories people own stay in their own vaults.
