The Get started checklist inside the app

After your first sign-in, the Get started page (also in the sidebar until you finish it) tracks six steps. Each one ticks itself off as you do it.

  1. Choose your assistant. Pick the tool you use most — Claude (Claude Code, Claude Desktop or claude.ai), ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or Windsurf, Gemini CLI, Grok, or any other MCP client. You can add more later; there's no limit on how many you connect.

  2. Connect it. Follow the on-screen steps for that assistant. Every assistant connects to the same address, https://mcp.justonce.ai, and signs in with your JustOnce account — there is no API key to copy. Per-assistant guides are in Connect your AI assistant.

  3. Confirm the connection. Keep the page open: it ticks this step the moment your assistant signs in. If it doesn't, press Check now, or I've connected it.

  4. Save your first memory. Copy one of the suggested prompts into your assistant, or tell it "remember that…". You can also press n anywhere in the app. See Save your first memory.

  5. Share a space. Optional. Copy a suggested prompt and your assistant opens a shared space for your household or team, where people get exactly the memories you choose to share. Shared spaces come with paid plans; on Free, choose Skip for now. See Create a shared space and invite people.

  6. You're set. From here the app is yours; the checklist disappears from the sidebar.

You can leave and come back — progress is saved.
